There are times when I write that I get so lost in the story I forget to eat, and there are other times when I struggle for each new paragraph. Both are enjoyable and rewarding for their own reasons. Sadly, there are also times when no writing happens at all. Luckily, those days are few and far between.
No, dear Readers, I am not speaking of the infamous writer’s block. I don’t believe in that nonsense.
I broke a bone in my foot and, since it happened, I’ve been both mentally and physically exhausted. Being restricted from putting any weight on my foot means exercise is out, and as I’ve written about before, running and writing go hand in hand. I’ve managed to keep up for a couple of weeks, but I’ve been slowly falling behind more and more until I reached today – I’m out of pre-written CRANK chapters and, while I know where the story is headed, I don’t have the mental focus to get it down on paper.
CRANK is not the only story suffering, and because of this I know I need more rest. Bear with me, dear Readers, I cannot say if it’ll only be a week or two, or more, but I’m not abandoning Mike and Crandall, or you. Instead, I’m taking the time I need to heal so I can give you the best I have available with I return to these two characters so dear to my heart.
